Bottle (from Alko web). Golden colour, mediumsized foamy white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is grains, some honey, mild caramel and some slight herbal tones with mild earthy tones. Flavour is floral, herbal, grassy and some mild earthy tones with a bit bready and sweet tones. Pleasant.

Half-litre bottle: BB 20th December 2024. Drank at home on 27th August 2024, third beer in a mini-tasting session with myself (Margie out with old school friends). Clear and clean, bright amber body, two inch off-white foaming crown, it looked good in the German glass stein I poured it into. Soft malty flavour and aroma, very little hop action, nose or taste wise. Caramel and toffee like semi-sweetness throughout. Enjoyed this, might have to take a rest before carrying on with my session; three beers in, an English, an Irish and now a German, sounds like the start of a good joke!

500 ml bottle. Unclear amber with a big fluffy head. Resin, honey, gingerbread, caramel, dry lemon zest. Malty sweetness, hoppy zesty bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty malty resinous bittersweet finish. Nice Maibock.

Weltenburger Kloster Maibock, Flasche von REWE, Bad Griesbach. - Altgold, blank. Sauber. (31.5.2024.)

Bottle, bar Grumo. Dark golden to amber color, thick head. Flavor is super malty, starchy, some biscuit, hay and intese grassy bitter note. Taste syrupy sugary at first, well balanced. Solid body, slick texture, clean malty finish on a moderate bitterness.

Bottle picked up as part of a six pack from Edeka, Spiegelau and consumed at home Wednesday 24th April 2024 listening to ByteFM and cooking a Spicy Mushroom Stir-fry. Pours copper in colour with a large white/off white head and great clarity. Malty backbone, hoppiness and a little bitterness at the end, the hoppiness is very reminiscent of the trad' UK style, so hedgerow hops that work well in a Bitter or ESB, but of course here they're in a 6.5% Maibock beer here. There is a pleasant sweetness with a little caramel, nice mouthfeel, really more'ish', really pleased that I got a six-pack now.
