Imperial Stout + Caramelised Miso + Intense Decadence
Directly inspired by food, our head brewer Brett was blown away by a dish serving caramelised miso butter in our restaurant at Wild Beer Jessop House. Instantly he wanted to recreate this flavours in a beer.
An imperial stout was brewed with lactose, sea salt, caramelised miso paste and tonka beans, this is a whole new take on ‘a decadent stout’. A direct descendant, or rather an older relative, of our salted caramel chocolate stout Millionaire. Intense and velvety the umami character shines through in Billionaire where salinity and a lactose body is matched by the intense umami on the miso paste.
With a long, warming bear hug of a finish this is a beer to be sipped and savoured.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Firm tan-coloured head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Jet black in the glass. Cocoa powder on the nose, mid-sweet and dry. Rich taste of cocoa, vanilla caramel, and prunes. Lingering and warming end of dark malts and dark fruits. Fine depth. Nice evening sipper. (Enjoyed back home after a long journey by train, bus, and plan from England, 10.07.2018).

330ml bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head, doesn't last long. Aroma of caramel, roast malts, vanilla, miso. Taste is as described, very rich, caramel, roasted malts, miso and some vanilla, lactose, fairly sweet. Medium-full body, creamy mouthfeel, fine carbonation. Way more intense than Millionaire, not as drinkable as it's so rich, though it does hide the 10% extremely well.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Wild Beer Billionaire ].Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, tonka beans, vanilla, light spicy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, roasted, sweet licorice, vanilla, dark malt, tonka beans. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170929] 7-4-8-4-15

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, chocolate, licorice, little spices, caramel, hops and has a nice long dry finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, lactose and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with a little warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 290917

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque black color, average sized brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, some chocolate, brown candy sugar, caramel. Taste malts, chocolate, caramel, dark malt sweetness and moderately malt bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Very nice!

On tap at Lovebucket. Pours thick black. Vanilla, chocolate, cherry liqueur, blackberry, savoury biscuit, toast, little earthiness. Huge body. Delicious.
