Bottle. A black one, topped by a medium sized, dense dark beige head. The aroma is a bit gentle at first, with ash tray, vanilla and a faint oaked hint. Some licorice and dark dried fruit too, and a well hidden alcohol. It's super-smooth and softly carbonated, very lightly warming, and not too sweet on the palate. Tannins, and lots of wood flavor. The licorice from the aroma turns towards licorice root in the flavor, and grows very strong towards the finish. Roasted malts, some dark dried fruit and a touch of ashtray in the flavor. Lasting oaked, smooth and malty finish. A bit messy this one, but at least flawless, and far, far from bad. Glad I shared the bottle with a friend, as I think it would have been a bit challenging to finish one on my own. Mostly due to the oak. A bit more chocolate and coffee focus would certainly benefit the beer. And the vanilla sort of drowns in the rest of the flavors. 231201

Bottle 330ml @ yngwie. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, ash, hint of dried fruits, licorice root and oak. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long almost dry oak and licorice root finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Not bad but the oak and licorice is very dominating

Black, lasting creamy light brown head. Roasted malt, licorice aroma. Some wood and whisky. Sweet flavour, licorice, sweet licorice, sweet roasted malt, light woody bitterness and mild whisky warmth.
