In the days before lager, Pale Ale was the original reassuringly expensive tipple. Drinking it set you apart from the Bitter crowd. Our Pale Ale is more than special. English Goldings, American Cascade & Cluster hops provide the bitterness, whilst our unique dry hopping technique with bucketfuls of Cascade & Willamette hops gives it a tantalising aroma.

Slightly hazy orange color, small white head. Citrusy pine needle aroma. Sour fruity citrus-hoppy flavor. Dry, hoppy aftertaste. Mix of English and American style pale ale, more on latter. But ... give me my SNPA anytime over this.

First rating: (33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) Orange to golden color, small white head. Fuity, hoppy and some cheese scent. Feels a bit oxidized, or it might be some hops I’m not used to. Sweet and a bit hoppy taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. A bit metallic aftertaste. 5/2/5/2/10=2.4 Rerate: (50 cl bottle thanks to oh6gdx!) Labelled 4.3% ABV. On Septembner 17, 2008. Slight hazy copper color, tan head. Fresh hoppy and sweet scent. Sweet, fruity, malty taste. A bit thin mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. 8/4/6/3/14=3.5

Bottle conditioned. Strong citrus and resin aroma, with yeast. Orangy amber color with a firm white head that laces. Starts a bit tangy and citrusy, and the malt is just along for the ride. The finish is not all that long, but it is very nice. Not a truly bitter hop finish, a mild pleasant one. Really excellent pale ale.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour. Very small head. The flavour has a little aroma hoppiness, but is a bit thin and boring.

Bottled. Clear, golden-orange ale with an off-white head. Citrus, hops, pinecones and some malt in the aroma. The flavor is quite hoppy too, with mostly the same elements as in the aroma. Medium body, and a long, piney bitterness in the finish. An Englishman in New York. Or rather the Pacific North West. (060604)
