Can with potential date smudged, drunk 2/27/26.
As soon as I crack this any notion that this wouldn't have enough bourbon, or it would be drowned out by alcohol/adjunct is immediately dispelled. Plentiful oaky, spicy, rich bourbon is the first thing out of the can, followed by a luscious hazelnut and cacao-like character with a bit of salty, sweet caramel behind it and plentiful malt, not too roasty, to balance. No alcohol whatsoever, no excess sugar, not utterly dominated by the adjunct, but they are represented and create a fun, interesting pastry stout.
The flavor goes even further. Rich malts with light-to-moderate roast set the base as wood tannin/oak and spicy bourbon give great complexity and flavor, followed by a rich hazelnut and light, earthy peanut-chocolate character. Every sip is exquisite; malty, flavorful, complex and most of all, balanced and dry. Body is chewy at most, with no syrup or sugary adjunct. The flavors all meld together wonderfully and the silky hazelnut-chocolate-bourbon-malt character lingers long. There's even a fair bit of PNW hop here, which is goofy as hell, but endearing.

Panda thanks to Wingman. Near clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine carbonation. The dark malts are a little thin mouthfeel wise but spot on chocolate cake wise. A nice light nutty peanut vibe sits on top of the liquid chocolate cake rather nicely. A light fruity dark chocolate finish. Good stuff, the peanuts are done perfectly, i.e., not too much. Shame the mouthfeel could not be a little more luxurious.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 21/09/24. Lighter shade of black topped with a khaki head that soon escapes. Nose is chocolate icing, peanut butter, dark malts, nutty, spice, toasted brown sugar. Taste comprises cacao nibs, bourbon rip, molasses, light booze tunes, peanut butter icing, roasted notes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Fun BA pastry affair.

16oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, beige foamy head. Nutty aroma, hazelnut, caramel, chocolate. Hose same notes continue in the taste, adding some peanut butter for good measure. Not much sign of the bourbon barrel. Sweet, sticky dessert beer. Delicious, smooth.
