In the early days of Struise, Pannepot had a few different versions. Pannepot (regular) / pannepeut (slightly less rosted malts) , Pannepot Reserva (aged on wine barrels), and pannepot Grand Reserva (aged on wine + calvados barrels) . Other barrel types ( such as Port) were released under the 'Pannepot Special Reserva' brand.
Over time, things have gotten a bit less clear, and now special versions have also been released as Pannepot Reserva, whilst some red wine barrel aged versions have been released under 'Pannepot Special Reserva' .
We - The Belgian Admins of Brewver - have decided to keep this entry only for the Wine BA versions of Pannepot. Either marketed as Reserva or Special reserva (essentially the same beer, different batch). If you happen to know the specific barrel (which was sometimes stated, but not always) you can rate that as a batch here. For other versions ( Bourbon BA, for instance) there's another entry.

Mellow and highly complex. Rustic bread malts, strawberries, mushrooms, vanilla oak, prunes and pears. Lingering woody tannins. Good stuff!

(330ml bottle from Beergium) Pours clear mahogany with a relatively small cap of eggshell foam. Notes of deep sugary malts with a lot of brown sugar and treacle, stewed fruit, dates and plums, apple esters, red wine, light spicebox, light vanilla, toasty hits with a little nut/cacao quality, fairly high tannin. Sweet up front, warming, a light seam of wine-like acidity in the middle, with a semi-drying minerality to the finish and light bittering from the wood and tannins. Light to medium body with filling carbonation and some alcohol warmth. A nice variant, the barrel is deep in flavour but not necessarily stepping so far out of the Pannepot lane. A touch thin, maybe the long ageing time to blame there. Solid.

0.33l bottle thanks to Lore. Black body with a light brown head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, cocoa, toast, plums, rose hips, oak, sour cherry, floral hops and even some balsamic vinegar. Complex beer. The finish is a bit sour (rose hips, balsamic vinegar). Complex, great beer.

2014 vintage 33 cl bottle served in sherry glass. It pours so dark a shade of brown that you could swear it's black. Thin tan head. Aroma is very intense dates, prunes, figs, molasses, Pedro Ximenez sweet wine, plumcake. Mouthfeel is intense, medium-carb, crisp, thick, slick. Taste is sour'n'sweet, slighty pungent and salty and tangy, very long-lasting with hints of prunes and raisins. Delicious.
