In the early days of Struise, Pannepot had a few different versions. Pannepot (regular) / pannepeut (slightly less rosted malts) , Pannepot Reserva (aged on wine barrels), and pannepot Grand Reserva (aged on wine + calvados barrels) . Other barrel types ( such as Port) were released under the 'Pannepot Special Reserva' brand.
Over time, things have gotten a bit less clear, and now special versions have also been released as Pannepot Reserva, whilst some red wine barrel aged versions have been released under 'Pannepot Special Reserva' .
We - The Belgian Admins of Brewver - have decided to keep this entry only for the Wine BA versions of Pannepot. Either marketed as Reserva or Special reserva (essentially the same beer, different batch). If you happen to know the specific barrel (which was sometimes stated, but not always) you can rate that as a batch here. For other versions ( Bourbon BA, for instance) there's another entry.

Bottle. A- Cherry, irish whisky, malt, brown sugar, dates. A- Dark mahogany color, brown opaque liquid, tan head. T- Black cherry, whisky, oak, faint tartness, vinous, raisins, treacle. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Bottle form 2012 so 11 years old. Kept saving this and not sure why but finally drank. It held up. Who knows how it's changed but it was quite enjoyable. Still complex and had kept plenty of character.

2014 vintage/bottles 2018. 330mL bottle at Grote Dorst, pours a clear dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle sherry-like oxidation, red wine, Belgian yeast, and gentle dark sugars. Flavour reveals tons of red wine barrels, Belgian yeast, subtle sherry-like oxidation, and toasted dark red fruits. Complex, nicely aged, vinous finish. Lovely.

Bottled. Rubyish black colour with a mediumsized beige head, that vanishes quite fast. Aroma is roasted malts, some spiciness, wood, some red wine tones with quite much tannin dry notes. Flavour is red wine, wood, some spiciness, mild toasted elements with some raisins and plum to it. Wood has given it quite much tanninlike dry elements. Quite thin (almost watery) palate as such, but at the same time I really like how dry it is.

Bottle at Ebenezers. Dark brown pour, layer of beige foamy head. Aroma is malty, sweet, red wine. Taste is sweet and mellow, woody, caramel, grapes. Age has enhanced this beer. Wonderful stuff.
