In the early days of Struise, Pannepot had a few different versions. Pannepot (regular) / pannepeut (slightly less rosted malts) , Pannepot Reserva (aged on wine barrels), and pannepot Grand Reserva (aged on wine + calvados barrels) . Other barrel types ( such as Port) were released under the 'Pannepot Special Reserva' brand.
Over time, things have gotten a bit less clear, and now special versions have also been released as Pannepot Reserva, whilst some red wine barrel aged versions have been released under 'Pannepot Special Reserva' .
We - The Belgian Admins of Brewver - have decided to keep this entry only for the Wine BA versions of Pannepot. Either marketed as Reserva or Special reserva (essentially the same beer, different batch). If you happen to know the specific barrel (which was sometimes stated, but not always) you can rate that as a batch here. For other versions ( Bourbon BA, for instance) there's another entry.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe, 2014 vintage. Dark brown body with ruby highlights and a beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of prunes, dates, fruit cake and salted caramel. Flavour of cherry cola, cranberries and red wine. Medium body with a watery, slick texture. Soft fizz. Rich and complex.

Bottle, vintage 2017. Color: Very dark ruby, no head. Aroma: Dark fruit, red wine. Taste: Dark dried fruit, red wine. Fruity. Pretty strong red wine. Subtle wood, tannins, herbs and red fruit, caramel. Moderate to above moderate sweet and bitter. Nice.

Vintage bottle at home. Clear mahogany with big fizzy tan head. Red wine, quite earthy, toffee, plums, chocolate, dried berries. Quite dusty and tastes pretty old. Over medium sweet, medium bitter and under medium sour. Over medium bodied. Quite interesting, it's quite far removed from Pannepot and also a bit dusty and sour with weird chemical astringent finish. Nice aroma, but the finish is really not good, something spoiled.

On tap @Luppolo Station in Rome. Black coffee bean color almost black with a medium ivory bubbling foam. Nose: oxidation, dried prunes, wet paper a bit, wood and red grapes firmly present. Mouth: clean, thin in a way, residual caramel and (red) wine

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma avorio/beige medio-leggera. Al naso frutta secca, datteri maturi, vino rosso marsalato, ossidazione, leggero solvente. In bocca è dolce con leggera acidità, con note di caramello, prugne mature, vino marsalato. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Non proprio raffinata, ma niente male.

375ML. acquired I believe 2 years ago in Belgium. opened and split 3 ways. it's basically flat but the mouthfeel is exceptional. oily, vinous and has a soft delicate carbonation finish. no cap pop from the carbonation. velvety smooth, rich with caramel and sweetness. burnt caramel malts and a lot of fantastically smooth barrel character, no char, just complex. Really enjoyed this one!
