In the early days of Struise, Pannepot had a few different versions. Pannepot (regular) / pannepeut (slightly less rosted malts) , Pannepot Reserva (aged on wine barrels), and pannepot Grand Reserva (aged on wine + calvados barrels) . Other barrel types ( such as Port) were released under the 'Pannepot Special Reserva' brand.
Over time, things have gotten a bit less clear, and now special versions have also been released as Pannepot Reserva, whilst some red wine barrel aged versions have been released under 'Pannepot Special Reserva' .
We - The Belgian Admins of Brewver - have decided to keep this entry only for the Wine BA versions of Pannepot. Either marketed as Reserva or Special reserva (essentially the same beer, different batch). If you happen to know the specific barrel (which was sometimes stated, but not always) you can rate that as a batch here. For other versions ( Bourbon BA, for instance) there's another entry.

Bottle. Pours dark slightly murky brown with a small offwhite head. Aroams of alcohol, burned sugar, dark ripe fruits, raisins, oaky dry notes, some licorice. Taste is following, lots of fruits, some malty notes, toast, light spice, some licorice, dry woody finish.

33cl bottle (vintage 2014, bottled 24/04/2018, 27 IBU) from Etre Gourmet web shop, my #2200 Belgium beer. F: medium, tanned, not long lasting. C: black, opaque. A: nice mellow dark berries, blackcurrants, chocolate, bit tobacco, vinous, dark caramel, dried fruits, raisins, bit toffee. T: full malty base, nice fruity, dried fruits, bit dark grapes, woody, bit nutty, dark fruits, still some almost medium carbonation, red wine, smooth warming alcohol, very nice, fully enjoyed.

That's a lot of chocolate, oaky, tannic, smooth. Been a while since I smelled this smell. Chocolate Russian smell, but sweet Belgian upfront. And tight finish.

Dark brown with golden head. Aroma is dark fruit, booze, sweet caramel, candi sugar. Taste equally sweet and boozy, with lots of fruit. Bit of toffee too. Pretty nice and pretty full on.

2005 bottle@ Kulminator Antwerpen. Complex beer in all aspects. Plums, raisin, raspberry, oak. Loads of dried fruit. Excellent. 2009 bottle, tasted jan ’13. Deep dark brown color. Chocolate, caramel and a hint of oak in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with dried red fruit and licorice. Hint of oak. Vanilla. Hint of alcohol.Full bodied. Probably needs a few more years.
