500ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a thin, frothy head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and some skunk. Not much to start. Caramel strong bitter finish. Lots of carbonation.

Originally rated January 2007. Caution ! Beer might explode out of the bottle once open (even if not shaken). Lost 75% of the beer itself, all over my counter and spoons, knives and forks (drawer was open to get the bottle-opener). Sediments were at the bottom of the bottle, and bottle is clear... so easy to see them move around. The beer itself is slightly hazy amber-caramel coloured. The nose is fruity, with peaches, strawberries and oranges. A little sticky mouthfeel that is not bad. Good bitterness in the taste with the fruit in the back and a nice alcohol feel. Not a bad beer, just wish I had more to drink from the bottle I bought.

It’s a pretty standard beer from this company. Reminds me a lot of the Fiddler’s Elbow. Rated 4/9/04

500ml bottle - Seriously, why is with so many English brewers and their clear bottles? Fortunately this one seems to have escaped light damage to the contents, but many bottles aren’t so lucky. Pours mostly clear light amber with a big, off-white head. It has a mild aroma of malt and English hops. The flavor is sweet caramel malt up front and some good, balanced hops later that ends in a pleasantly bitter finish. It’s light to medium bodied and overall a very session-able bitter.
