Both prequel and sequel of Ninja Bavarese, classical hefeweizen brewed by AF Brew for Birreria gastropub two years ago. This time it is what it was supposed to be: thick, strong, tricky, badass Weizenbock fermented with Bavarian yeast and dry-hopped with Japanese Sorachi Ace.

Draft sample @ TCBW ’16. Orangé voile-doré, col fin blanc. Arôme met bien à profit le Sorachi qui tranche très bien avec l’aspect plus allemande retrouvé dans la levure. Note d’ailleurs ce côté lager avec un accompagnement malt pils, Munich. Palais garde un aspect très allemande surtout niveau levure avec un fini houblonné qui change de l’habituel houblonnage noble. Je note une pointe de pamplemousse, raisin blanc, lemongrass et touche épicée. Sorachi est bien utilisé. Innovation des styles que j’attends depuis longtemps, et voilà que cela arrive de Russie.

Tap at TCBW. Pours golden. Aroma is sweet, citrus and some cucumber. Flavor is sweet, citrus, wheat, more cucumber. Finish is citric bitter with noticeable alcohol. Overall: drinkable.

Tap at TCBW2016. Hazy orange color, good cloudy beige head. Spicey, banana nose. Medium-bodied. Flavor has banana wheaty flavor, covers abv well. Spicey finish. Ok.
