Sour Amber Ale
Fragrant & rich with complex flavors & a balanced mellow acidity, this raspberry-packed blend of La Roja has notes of cocoa, vanilla, & pie crust.
We steeped our 8.5 month foeder-aged La Roja flemish ale on 95 gallons of raspberry puree to create this special fruited blend.

Canned 5/25/24, drunk 12/24/24.
Clear, lighter amber with ruddy strawberry tones. Small, buttery head.
Nose is very nicely aged and mellow! No punchy, overly acidic fruit or culture. Low toast and decent base malt character with butter toffee, vanilla and honey notes and low lactic, no acetic, light Brett suggestions.
Supple, round, oak-influenced texture with no punchy acidity and tastefully-added raspberry that sweetens a touch and adds complexity without dominating the vanilla, honey and mild toffee of the base beer. Good lactic and Brett interplay lingering.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a murky copper bronze with a full two fingers of fluffy white foam. Lovely raspberry aromas up front on the nose with some cereal malt notes as it warms. Oak, funk and more raspberry on the palate. Balanced finish with lower than usual acidity for JP. Nice stuff.
