The bergamot oranges are grown in Sicily and honestly smell delicious. We zested about 120 kg, and squeezed a third of them. They are quite sour, so too much juice was not going to work well with the tenderness of our one year old lambic. Together this fermented on an oaken barrel for nine months. Afterwards we diluted this concoction one to six with some more lambic until we felt the aroma from the bergamot did not drown out the lambic and let it referment in the bottle.

Waiting patiently for six more months, we finally have a delicious lambic with intense bergamot in the nose, as well as more subtle hints in the mouth. A very special combination indeed.

Pours clear blonde. Small white head. Scent is super intense, pot pourri, perfume for the bathroom. Citrus peel. Very, very intense on the nose. Taste is very intense, sourness very high, spicyness from the bergamot very ,very overpowering. Not at all balanced, quite hard to drink.

A slightly hazy orange golden colour, no head. Aroma of mint, bergamotte, tart fruits. Taste of sour bergamotte, herbs, berries, grapes.

Intensiver säuerlicher Beginn mit sehr starkem Bergamotte-Aroma. Ziemlich trocken, leicht bitter, sauer, langer Nachhall. Spektakel für Bergamotte-Fans! 9/12/11/10/10/11

Head gone in seconds over metallic amber-golden beer. Bergamot a mile out, almost pharmaceutical, citrus-oily, turpentine. Sour lemon, lime, lactic acid. And of course, Bergamot, kafir lime peel, Lady Grey. Very limited classic lambicnotes. Sharp-ish, lipsmacking acidity, acidthinning, not very carbonated. Absolutely unique & original. A new step.

Cloudy orange beer, no head. Aroma: lots and lots of oranges, very perfumy, a bit floral, fruity, nice, very intense. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sour, lots of oranges, a bit oxidized, sweet impression, lemony, very sour, more oranges and orange peel. Aftertaste: more oranges, a bit oxidized, earthy, dry, clean acidity, very floral, funky, ok.
