  Barley Wine - Barley Regular

7.41
ABV: 15.2% IBU: - Ticks: 7
A complex, full bodied barleywine pouring a viscous mahogany. On the palate it is full of toffee, caramel, red wine, dried fruits, marmalade & Christmas cake with the dry tannic finish of a dessert wine, making this decadent beer incredibly moreish.

On tap at Bryggerifestivalen. It pours a lightly hazy brown body under a small, dense light beige head. Roasted malts and some alcohol in the aroma, along with nuttyness, toffee and dark dried fruit. It's full bodied and warming, although not as warming as expected. Nice carbonation level. The flavor has some bitterness, with dark dried fruit and caramel running the show. Hints of nuts too. Lasting finish. Sure not bad this one, and it hides the ABV very well. 240801

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, chocolate, caramel and some brandy and wooden tones. Flavour is spicy, some alcohol, mild sweet malty tones with some dried fruits and some toffee tones. Nice and big brew.

Draught, kindly shared by yngwie at Bryggerifestivalen 2024. Lacing rings down the glass from an off-white head, misty amber-copper body. Solid aromas of dried fruits, earthy malts, and caramel. Solid taste, as well, with hints of dried fruits, biscuit, and caramel malts. jam-like impression. Lingering aftertaste of dried fruits and rather sweet caramel malts. Good drinking, a tad too sweet in the long run. (Trondheim, 01.08.2024).
