This medium to full-bodied beer, pale to golden in color, is most accurately described as a Bavarian wheat beer. The aroma and flavor of this unfiltered beer is decidedly fruity and spicy evoking tastes and aromas of cloves, nutmeg or sometimes vanilla with banana-like esters. Somewhat sweeter in style with a barely noticeable tartness. An award winning Hefeweizen from the heartland.

12 oz. can. Pours a slightly hazy yellow, with a medium, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is big notes of oranges, bubblegum, and butterscotch, with some notes of wheat and coriander. Citrusy sweetness, lots of esters, and just a touch of bitterness in the finish, which balances very nicely, and finishes clean. Light to medium body, chewy, and lightly carbonated. This is a very crisp, citrusy, aromatic example of a hefeweizen. Aromatic, well-made, and very drinkable.

Tap @Ginger Man, NYC. ABV 4.8%
My first beer from Nebraska, state 41/51! Hazy yellow color, steady white head. Overriped banana aroma. Medium-bodied. Banana, some bubblegum in the flavor. Tasty for this ABV.

A hazed blonde hefeweizen with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, smooth bananas and cloves, sweet and fresh and grassy. In mouth, sweet fruity esters, bananas, strawberries, light and refreshing on a hot summer NY day. Tap at Rattle’n’Hum, June 30, 2012.

Tap @ brewpub. Hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Pretty rich banana creamy, a bit spicy yeasty, moderate clove aroma that is quite nice and not overpowering. A touch tart, spicy yeasty, fairly sweet banana flavor. Not a ton going on but it is delicious.

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Allston, MA. Hazy gold color, massive carbonation. Soapy head, light lace. Nose of light clove and bubblegum. The taste is much of what you’d expect from the nose, wheat, clove, and some spice, Very light body, has a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Doesn’t hold a candle to the German Big Brothers, but overall; it is a refreshing light, easy, summer drinker.

Draft at Rattle N Hum. Cloudy, pale gold body with a white, showly diminishing head. Aroma of banana, clove, sweet wheat. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and lively carbonation. Pretty standard with the banana and clove in the aroma and flavor. Not as slick in the mouthfeel as you’d expect from a wheat beer. The finish has a bit of a homebrew twang. Average.

Location: Draft at Rattle 'N' Hum, 7/14/10
Aroma: Wheat, yeast, bubblegum, banana, and light spice on the nose
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is pretty much what you'd expect from the nose, wheat, sweetness, and some spice
Palate: It is fairly fizzy on the mouth with a light-medium body, and it has a slightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this was a fairly solid example of the style. A better then average wheat beer. I am as surprised as anyone, but Nebraska actually seems to be producing some very solid beers.
