Re-rate 3/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks troubles. Earthy hops, citric notes, light maltiness, pleasant bitterness. Seems in a much better shape than the last bottle I’ve tried. 6/3/7/3/14=3.3
Bottle sample at a tasting at avrashi’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear deep golden. Aroma of malt, honey, oxidation and some overripe fruits notes. Sweet malty flavor with a bit of honey, a bit of oxidation, light graininess and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. 4/3/4/3/8=2.2

Pours amber with a fading head.Nose shows some sweet malt and toffee. Also some floral hints.Very similar flavours, but more spicy hops rather than floral notes.Carbonation seems a bit high.

From a 500ml bottle on 21/8/2012. Pours a clear light golden with a small head. Has a nice, light malty aroma with hay, grass and caramel. The flavour is subtle but impressive, with a biscuity malt sweetness set off nicely against a pleasant medium, quite dry hop bitterness. A very nicely put together ale.

Bottle, 12C. Clear pale amber with a small white head. Floral and citric aroma with peaches and light biscuit. Taste has peaches and caramel, orangey bitterness. Too much carbonation and it still seems a little lifeless.

Brown, thin and tall 500ml bottle, best before 28th May 2008, drank on the 9th. Poured into my Bateman’s half pint sleeve glass twice. Light amber in colour with a good head, light biege in colour. A slight haze, but I might have cooled it down too much. It did ask (on the label) to serve it chilled, not a regular English Pale Ale request. Dirty Farmyard Aroma at first, luckily that went away leaving the more normal Pale Ale hoppy and beery smells to come through. True English Pale Ale traits, hoppy and fairly dry without the hops or dryness ruining the balance of the alcohol and feel. I paid 79 Pence for this pint, bloody good value.

Clear orange beer, small aery white head, unstable, adhesive. Aroma: some hay, bit fruity, sweet sugary touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, herbal, sweet malts, some caramel, herbal green tea. Aftertaste: bitter spicy touch, citrus, sweet and sugary notes, typical English yeast note, some barnyard.

Bottle, courtesy of Gaz. Clear amber pour with a minimal off white head. Sweet malty nose with some pissy hop lurking. Sweetish flavour with notes of fruit and caramel. Some insipid bitterness towards the finish. Falls squarely into the Joe Average camp and a bit of a chore working through this offering. Thanks anyway though Gaz!

An orange-brown beer with a quite weak and white head. Aroma is interesting, maltyness, toffee, chocolate and tobacco. Taste is malty, grass, toffee and hint of tobaccos and hint of citrusfruits. The end is quite dry with herbal bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth and nice to drink. Interesting flavours, definedly this beer would need another tasting before last judgement. The bottle is propably quite old. Now with more fresh bottle (27.06.2013, BBE 17.02.2014; the points are the same) the hops are more dominating and overally more sharp touch.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Citrus-fruity and herbal-minty hoppy aroma with mildly nutty notes and a tinge of caramel. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Cara-malty and slightly nutty taste with fruity noble hops; rounded malty, slightly fruity and spicy hoppy finish. A well-crafted Ale. 10.XII.10
