On tap at the brewpub, from sampler tray. Black colour, tan head of good retention. Moderate roasty aroma, some fruity notes. Roasty and surprisingly fruity flavour, notes of over-ripe red & black berries.

On tap @ the brewpub. Clear dark brown, almost black body with a rather small and fast disappearing beige head. Relatively mild in aroma, but very pleasant and harmonized of roasted malt and mocha with a hint of coffee. Flavor is sweet, dark, moderate roasted malt, mocha, chocolate, some coffee and balanced bitterness. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste with just a faint hint of some kind of off-flavor. Not really disturbing but there is something in the aftertaste Iβm having problem to put my finger on. Anyway, all in all a rather tasty, very easy to drink beer thatβs a bit more heavy and robust than normally for Schwartzbier. Surprisingly fruity, not obvious to take this for a lager. Almost a lower alcohol substitute for the porter.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a more or less black body, at least very dark brown. Finger thick light beige head. Hazy. The aroma is roasted with coffee and a faint dms touch. Chocolate too. The flavor has a little sweet feeling, but itβs pretty dry on the palate. Roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate and a nice bitterness. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted finish with a nice bitterness. More a porter than a schwarzbier this one, but nice and easy drinkable. 140126
