Tap @ the brewpub. Slightly unclear dark brown body under a light off-white head. Aroma has rye, caramel, chocolate, biscuit and hint of smoke. Taste as expected from aroma, rye, bread, caramel, chocolate, light smoke and moderate but pleasant bitterness. Over all a very easy drinkable beer with lots of flavors and surprisingly balanced and full bodied for this low ABV. Not exactly a true to style porter, more something in-between a brown ale, porter and smoked traditional ale. A pleasant one indeed, could easily have a few of this one during an evening at the brewery patio.

Bottle. A clear-looking dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is burnt and roasted, with mocha, dark chocolate and some caramel hints. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, keeping the little sweetness under control easily. Chocolate, coffee and roasted, almost bonfireish malts too. It’s quite dry on the palate, medium bodied and soft on the palate. Chocolate, coffee and bitterness in the finish. A really nice one, wouldn’t mind having more of this one. 140531
