On tap at the Hay Merchant. Lacings occur on the walls of the glass as the finger-thick, dense, white head slowly sinks towards the bottom. The beer itself is almost clear, and pale golden in color, with lovely piney and citrusy aromas. Grapefruit and some malty hints too. Bitter, fruity flavor with citrus peel, resins and not too much malts. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, and with a lasting bitter and fruity finish where also some pine cones appear. Wow, this one blew me away, it’s so tasteful and refreshing I immediately wanted to have another one. 140515

Draft at Sedona Charlottesville. Pours a clear golden color with a thin frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal, floral, citrus hops, honey, pale malt. The taste is pale malt, honey, herbal, citrus and resin hops. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Draught at Publick House, 3/13/14
Pale golden body is clear with a large white head that shows strong retention and lacing.
Moderate citrus acidity in the nose has dry, leafy floral aromatics, nearly perfumey, as well. Soft, very pale malt sugars lend balance but allow the hops to shine. A touch of pine and maybe some alcohol warmth on the end but it leads to plentiful fruitiness as well, keeping it complex and interesting.
Very soft texture, strong wheat/rye chewiness and nicely attenuated. Yellow fruits such as apricots, golden apples and juicy grapefruit all seem very fresh and flavorful. Grows more dry and rather acidic on the end, but the texture and engaging carbonation keep it drinkable. Very well-done and quite assertive.
