On tap at the brewpub. A reddish colored beer, lightly unclear, topped by a small, dense, light beige head. Some curtains. The aroma has piney hops, some citrus and a light caramel maltyness. A nice bitterness balances the sweetness from the malts, with piney, slightly citrusy hops. A faint alcohol warmth seems to embrace the mouth, it’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated wtih a lasting finish. Weird warming feeling in this one, except that it’s a very fine beer. 151008

Om tap @ the brewpub. Almost clear amber body with a nice, tan head. Aroma has chocolate and toast with less hops than the previous version. Flavor is also lighter on the caramel malt, but more chocolate and less bitterness. Fine balanced body and smooth malty/chocolate aftertaste with discrete bitterness. Nice slightly roasted amber that’s actually a bit closer to the original brown ale from the brewpub.
