On tap at Oxbow, Portland. It pours a lighlty unclear, yellow colored body under a dense, white head. Citrus zest, pine cones and pale malts in the aroma. Pretty standard for a saison, perhaps not for a 3.5% ABV saison. There’s a light bitterness in the flavor, it’s very fruity, with some peppery yeastyness, citrus zest and a touch of pale malts. It’s soft, dry and medium bodied, with a long swallow. A quenching and quite wonderful beer. 150609

Draught at Portland location, 6/19/15
Soft yellow-hued blonde beer has a persistent white head with high clarity in the liquid.
Just a pinch of lightly grassy hoppiness in the nose gives way to very soft fruity esters, touches of cellar/dustiness and bits of faint sulfur. It all blankets the nose nicely with a general softness, inviting dryness and, as usual, elegance. Why can’t more breweries make real Belgian ales like these? Why must everything be so American-hopped to high hell?
Very light, minimally malty and hoppy body is very watery per style, with soft apricot and peach notes mixed in with dry biscuit flavors and a touch of light wheat on the finish. Mild bitterness adds a touch of spiciness/grassiness and tapers off on the long, soft, watery, estery finish. Very drinkable, and with a touch of sulfur, but very faint and homogenous with the overall yeast character of the beer. Man do I wish I lived down the street from Oxbow.....
