This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance had a dark golden semi-hazy color with a sly transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising. Small white head quickly dissipated with no lacing.
The aroma balances between some citrus, pine and caramel. Then some breadiness and orange zest cleanly moves in.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to cleanly build a soft sweet feature sliding over a nice bitterness. Balanced semi-sweet aftertaste yields the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbobation. Sly lacing.
Overall, pretty good old school styled AIPA that I could come back to if I see it. Maybe not really one to seek out, but good enough for what it is.

Bottle. It’s a hazy, dark golden beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is rather malty, with a citrusy, piney touch and some caramel. It’s full-bodied, soft and quite dry on the palate. It’s quite bitter, with caramel sweetness, some generic fruityness and a touch of pine cones and orange zest. Long bitter and fruity finish. Not the best beer I’ve had, not much IPA-ish either. 150608

Ok, I’m getting the idea that Cottrell doesn’t bother to make different beers, or at least change the recipe to much. I had their mystic bridge, S&P IPA, and this one at the same lunch, no difference.
