Bryggerhuset Brut IPA #1

Tap @ Både &. Unclear golden body with a small white head. Aroma is a bit strange and difficult to place. Some kind of general fruit in combination with ripe fruit, wood and sweet white wine. Flavor is fruity and feels surprisingly sweet considering the brut consept, might have something to to with the high alcohol, its actually way too boozy to cope with the light body and mild fruity flavors. The first few sips turns out quite OK and at least something interesting. Sure fun for a festival sample or “planke” experience, but to actually drink this was not easy for me, way too boozy and totally out of balance. Aftertaste actually ends Sweet and boozy.

On tap at Både&. A hazy orange-golden beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is fruity, but feels old. Peach, pineapple, some orange, hints of herbs and flowers. Candy and alcohol. It's full bodied, sweet and warming, with a soft carbonation. Tropical fruityness, peach, pineapple, hints of banana, sweet maltyness, alcohol, some flowery notes and a herbal bitterness. Long finish. Well, it's sure drinkable, but unbalanced and feeling old. Rating: 6-3-6-3-12-3.0 190502

Bottle, at Både Vått & Tørt. Looks like the last time, but the aroma is more pronounced fruity. Grapefruit, orange zest and pine cones. The pale malts are there too, in the far back. Feels less sweet than last time, dry this time actually, with a pleasant carbonation, and a solid, for the style, body. The alcohol warmth is present, but just barely. Lasting finish with a nice bitterness. Guess it kept better in the bottle than on the keg, as this time it was a beer worth revisiting. 190810

Bakgården Både & 050419. Unclear golden color with a white head. Flavor is citrus, elderflower, ripe fruit, apple, fruit, white wine, alcohol, herbs, pine. Weird beer, but also a little bit interesting.

On tap @ Bergen Ølfestival. Pours cloudy yellow, with no head. Aroma is tropical hops with apricots and mango. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is grassy hops, with pine and citrusy notes, as well as apricots, mango, pineapples, and a sting of alcohol. Short, dry finish.
