Bottle from Gulating. Unclear golden body with a medium sized white head. Quite light aroma, but distinct spicy yeast with a herbal touch and hint of pepper. Flavor has a light and soft touch of pale malt, quite sweet, spicy Belgium yeast as very typical for the style, a herbal touch, some kind of light fruit in general and some fruity bitterness. Balanced body and decent aftertaste in the same direction. Nothing complex or outstanding really, but this one really hit the style like almost only Belgium breweries manage to do. This is actually an impressive true to style Belgium Blond, even with lower alcohol. Comparing this with Leffe Blond as one of the best known sample within this style, Munken is lesser sweet and slightly more hopped – both a positive thing by me and still an unmistakable Belgium Blond.

29.09.2018, 0,33l bottle shared with yngwie @ his place:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head, slightly cloudy. Aroma is slightly dry floral, wet hay, weeds, leafs, minerals, bark, light malts, wet moss, paper, flowers, yeast, wet grain. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, bark, metal tank, old lawn, wet hay, minerals, something strange smoked, paper. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Boring.

Bottle, courtesy of the brewery. It's a lightly hazy orange-golden colored beer with a small white head. The aroma has grass, pine cone notes, spiced, peppery hops and a light malty touch. It's medium bodied and dry on the palate, softly carbonated, with a decent bitterness. Grass, pine cones, peppery notes and a touch of something smoked, like smoked meat or sausages. Nothing annoying, just sort of weird. Dry, fruity finish with a decent bitterness. Easy drinkable and quite tasteful and quenching. 180929
