Tap @ the brewpub. Clear, dark amber body, close to black under a moderate sized, dense, nice lacing beige head. Aroma has dark, smooth roasted malt, chocolate and hint of coffee. Taste is super smooth, dark roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, some milk chocolate and hint of dark fruit with a balanced, moderate bitterness. Fine balanced body with a long-lasting smooth aftertaste. A really nice, dark roasted malty beer with a very nice chocolate touch. Feels quite sweet at the first sips, but far away from sticky sweet. Just silk smooth and dangerously easy drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a small, firm, beige head over a dark brown body. Some lacing. The aroma has lots of roasted malts and dark chocolate, with hints of coffee grit and some dark dried fruit. Some notes of alcohol shine through. It's amazingly light on the palate, smooth and softly carbonated, with a quite dry mouthfeel. The flavor follows the same pattern, with roasted malts and dark chocolate doing most of the work, but supported by dark dried fruits and a light generic fruityness. A light alcohol flavor and warmth is present, but only in a supporting role. The finish is pleasant and tasteful, with all the flavors found initially, and an oat biscuit touch. A really nice one, but be careful drinking it, it slides down very easily. 201106
