On tap at Basement Beer Bar. An almost black one, topped by a dense finger-thick light tan head leaving curtains. The aroma is sweetish and caramel-ish, with roasted malts, a light burnt note, hints of licorice and a good dash of alcohol. It's full-bodied, silky and warming, a bit sweetish on the palate. The flavor is too sweet I think, even for a pastry(-ish) stout. Roasted malts, caramel, some burnt malts, a bit much alcohol, and some vanilla and licorice. A faint citrus zest touch too. Lasting sweet finish with lots of caramel and alcohol. Drinkable indeed, but not my preferred beer this evening. 221220

Tap @Basement Beer Bar, Ålleren. Black, creamy beige head. Roasted malt and licorice aroma. Bittersweet flavour, licorice, caramel, sweet roasted malt, some slightly rough vanilla. Bitter finish. Sticky, well balanced with nice warmth.
