Celis White is made using Pierre Celis’ original recipe from 1965, when he revived the witbier style on his father’s barn in Belgium. Brewed with the highest quality ingredients, Celis White is a light and hazy yellow wheat beer, ideal for sipping during the hot summer months. An easy-drinking session beer laced with flavors of orange peel, spice and coriander, take a step back in time and enjoy the first witbier, Celis White.

bottle - Pours hazy light yellow with a one finger white head. It has a citrus yeast aroma with some wheat malt apparent. It’s a sweet witbier with the malt dominating this light, refreshing brew. Citrus notes accent it nicely. It’s a little thin, but pretty good overall.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with a medium/small head. Aromas are funk, lemon, spice and bananas. Flavor is kind of a goofy mix of the above. The funky lemon goes fairly well with the cloves and light wheat flavor.

Bottle. At first, this seemed overspiced and a little too full in the body to present a crisp taste. But the more I drank, the more I enjoyed the beer. Hazy yellow body with a short white head. The aroma was spicy (coriander) with a light toasted grain note and some citrus. The flavor was lightly to moderately sweet and moderately acidic. Upfront taste of coriander and orange peel. Finish was dry and lightly bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is weird. I get some wheat and yeast along with a smoky meatyness. Flavor is sweet and sour fruit with a bit of yeast. Not really a good sample of the style.

Aroma of coriander with a bit of citrus and clove. Hazy gold color with a white head that flattened rapidly. Medium in body, brisk in carbonation. The flavor is light stone fruit, coriander, citrus, maybe finishing lightly sweet with citrus peel to balance. Banana seems to be present. Really pleasant to drink.
