Lav bitterhet men allikevel balansert i uttrykket.

440 ml can, as Disko St. Ruby Barrel Aged Quadrupel, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 11%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, solvent, fusel, alcohol, brown sugar. The flavour is not quite as sweet as I feared, and somewhat better balanced than the aroma. Notes of brown sugar, oak, dark dried fruits and caramel, hints of mild spices. Low bitterness.

Can. An almost clear copper colored beer with an off-white to beige head. The aroma is a bit sugary, but mostly fruity. Hints of cellar, oak and some higher alcohol. Honey and bready pale malts. Peach hints. It’s full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated, with a gentle carbonation. Prunes, honey hints, oak, cellar, bready malts and sugary hints in the flavor. Lasting finish. A bit too warming and edgy this one. 231124
