Voor de naam vonden we inspiratie in het nummer ‘Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’ van jazzdrummer Idris Muhammad; een nummer dat de clash vertegenwoordigt van alle subtiliteiten, funkiness, nuances en levendigheid van beide werelden, die in deze fles met elkaar verweven zijn. Het passend labeldesign kwam van de hand van @Letterlik.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 26.10.2033) im 2025-08 getrunken. Diese rötliche Ale kommt überraschenderweise ohne jeglicher Süße daher, was durch den Met doch zu erwarten wäre. Stattdessen hat das Lambik mit seiner moderaten Säure klar die Dominanz, die von schönen Fruchtaromen von dunklen Beeren/Kirschen und durch den Ausbau in Weinfässer begleitet wird. Der hohe Alkoholgehalt ist perfekt eingebunden. Ein schönes Ale!

1 May 2024. 75cl bottle from De Mederie webshop - ordered it immediately as it was announced, in a combination pack with Mederie's Black River Mead it was simply great value for money. No bottle # mentioned. Sometimes there's no use in cellaring and waiting to enjoy a good brew, so here's to Anke's 30th birthday! Clear bright red, small, stable, foamy, pink head. Aroma of cherry, cherry stone, redcurrant, cassis, old red wine, wood, grape skin, honey, yoghurt, wine vinegar. Abundant fruity sourness in the taste: sour cherry, redcurrant, blackcurrant, some balancing bitterness of cherry & grape skin, wrapped in a malt body of sourdough, red fruit jam and - evidently - sweetish honey. Subtle herhal hops in the finish, providing bitterness along with woody notes and berry skins, balanced against the fruity, funky tannins and a warming alcohol effect of old red wine. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not the most intense Lambic/Mead (delete as applicable) per se, but highly enjoyable as a structured, complex and festive drink 'tout court'.
