Cask-conditioned at the Pelican, Gloucester, 22/3/2024. Jet black in colour, with a tight, beige, head. Liquorice, chocolate and some coffee character, before a slight creamy finish with some toastiness in the background. Enjoyable.

Can at the Strait and Narrow. Black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma and taste are roasted malty coffee, slight bitter. Fairly light body.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Pours black with a tan head. Bitter roast and liquorice set the tone, offset by some curious sweet milky chocolatey shades rising from within. Really excellent cask stout.

11/3/2023. Cask at the 2023 Coventry Beer Festival. Pours close to black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, light roasted malt. Quite sweet with light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, watery, soft carbonation. Nice aroma but lacked body.

Cask @ Coventry Beer Festival. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel and has a nice roasty finish.

Cask @ Coventry Beer Festival. Black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, mlaty, roasted malt and light hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 110323

Cask at The 38th Pig's Ear Beer Festival, Hackney, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma & taste. It's OK.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2022 - day 1. Pours clear red-brown with a foamy, light tan head. Light sweet flavour, mellow roast, tobacco. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with bitter, coffee, some raisins, spent tobacco. So so.
