Brewed with Scottish grown base malt, whole cone E.K.G. hops, and slow fermented on neutral yeast. Aged in a selection of Islay and Highland whisky barrels with a touch of freshly made Scottish cinder toffee, before blending. Sweet and rich, with complex fruity malt notes, heavy caramel, light peat smoke, and subtle vanilla/tannin character, all combine to give a truly Scottish wee heavy,

Monday, 1st April 2024; Monthly gathering in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Five guys with beers to share and stories to tell. 440ml can, hazy golden amber, off-white topping. Cinder toffee in the nose and taste, slight woody, whisky traces but the taste is dominated by the caramel sweetness really. I liked it!

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 24. Hazed amber, off white head. A definite wee heavy undercurrent here alongside the toffee, with a gentle whisky influence making a fleeting appearance, soft peaty notes. Quite nice but not a huge barrel-aged effect.

Can from the Paisley Beer Festival. Appearance - cloudy amber brown. Frothy off white head. Nose - whisky, wood, caramel and sultana. Taste - Muesli, sweet whisky and flapjacks. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and still resudual sweetness. Overall - didn't get the expected peaty whisky, more like Highland to be honest. Still maybe that's a good thing.

Amber beer, off white head. Smells.of caramel, malt and a little Scotch. Flavour has noticeable but not overpowering peaty whisky throughout, caramel again, sweet toasty malt, vanilla. Very nicely balanced.
