A bit unusual dunkelweisse Hazed caramel pour and a small head on top Moderate intensity in the aroma Mellow sweetness and a soft carbonation level Wheat, toffee, nutty and some yeast in the flavor [On tap at Tap Station in Grebbestad, Sweden]

Unsettlingly uncomplicated by lists of hops. Perhaps there aren't any....? A bit too sprizzy to be authentic

Bottle and day 4 of my brew cavern advent calendar. This was 5.1%. Deep brown colour with an off white head. Aroma and taste are roasted malty and light spice. Hints of banana. Crisp body.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a hazy muddled brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, bready malt, and a hint of estery banana. Flavour is bready and estery, with toasted nuts, earthy crusty rye bread, and a hint of esters. Has a slight tartness to it that is acceptable but perhaps not optimal. Decent.

Tap at Arch 7 kernel tap. A mostly clear Ruby brown coloured pour with a lasting magnolia head. Aroma is fresh wheat, toast, spicy clove, yeasty, dried fruits, malt loaf. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toasted wheat, dried fruits, drying mineral.. Palate is crisp, prickly , highish carbonation good. Quite a modern take on this style.

Keg at Craftsman Company, Aberdeen. It pours clearly deep reddish - brown with a small, but lasting khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, brown bread, dried fruits, cherry, fruit cake, well fired loaf, banana bread, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste is dry and toasty upfront, bitter, charred and slightly ashy, cacao nibs, bitter coffee bean, dried fruits, burnt fruit cake, nip of spice and full banana bread. Finish is faulty bitter and earthy dryness. I do understand some of the mixed views here. The earthy bitterness on the taste doesn't quite match up with the beer style imo. Decent enough, but underwhelming for Kernel.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy amber/brown body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Patchy lacing. Aroma of earth, stewed tea and cranberry. Flavour of steel, copper and lemon. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I usually love the Kernel’s beers, but I think this one tastes a bit tinny and weird.

Keg at Mother Arch ii, 31/08/23. Light murk on a mahogany brown pour with a decent lasting beige head. Nose is biscuit, dried fruit rinds, dark malts, herb, hint of banana, nutty. Taste comprises sultanas, dates, toffee, spice, herb, dark malts, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Malt forward and tidy for the style.
