Bière de Noel

Bottle from Voldby. Nice head with good duration. Color is Brown. Aroma and taste are cinnamon, caramel, oranges, malt and hops. Nice beer.

Amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and fruit. Sweet caramel and fruit flavour. Pretty well balanced.

750mL swingtop bottle poured into a large wine glass. BB 3/20/12, guessing that means this was bottled on 3/2009, so about 9 months old. Pours with a perfect medium head that is able to maintain its strength throughout the life of the beer. As its sipped a nice strong lacing sticks to the sides of the glass. The color is glowing brown with orange tints, dark enough to only allow for medium clarity yet glowing. The aroma is airy-caramel-toffee, light and not overpowering. Its just there, not sugary, great malt component right there. Same character in the flavor with a faint raisin aspect as well. At first I thought the beer ends there and its very nice, just a good malty BdG with no flaws that is impeccably drinkable. But as I kept drinking it just kept getting better and I feel like I was tasting Pilsner malt, which surprised me. Even if it isn’t, this "airy" aspect or some beautiful light yet substantial malts to balance out the beer just work wonderfully. It seems like such a delicate and understated aspect that made me love the beer even more. As I stated with other beers from this brewery, simple yet awesome.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting December, 2010. Pours clear copper with a creamy white head. Sweet nose os spices, grain and candy. Dry grainy and metallic flavor with a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied.

Pours clear bright mahogany into a trappist glass. Off-white head quickly recedes to nothing. Hot toasted caramel and roasted nut aromas. Slick and sweet from front to back with a lasting alcohol burn.

750ml swing top pours a clear, orangey amber with one ring of white head. Nose is sweet, malty, sugary, root vegetables. Flavor is sweet, candy sugar, yeast, fruit, lightly spiced. Full bodied, sticky finish.

Bottle. Cloudy orange brown. Very malty with a bit of licorice. Not bad.

bottle pours light amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet heather and floral. Bready flavors with nutty notes and some spicing in the finish.

RBWG’10 pours amber gold, white head. Aroma and flavors, light malty-Belgian yeasty palate and nose. Some hints of fruit; light apple tart mixed with other dark fruits, yeast with a mild roasted finish. Inviting medium body, with a lingering malty mouthfeel.
