We Oaked our newest barley wine with oakchips, soaked in Appelstook (kind of 'Calvados') from the distillery/brewery Het Aerts Paradijs from Koersel.
A nice full alcoholic beer with a touch of apple, oak and spirit.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 24/08/2025.
Clear rich amber topped with an off white cap that escapes to the edge and a thin swirl.
Nose is stewed fruits, herb, toasted grains, dates, toffee.
Taste comprises fruit cake mix, spice, herb, grains, caramel, toasted sugars, candied fruit rinds.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow boost.
Passable sipper ... lacks depth of flavour and barrel presence.

Can. Thanks to Wolf. Just a mild haze on this deep gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Slightly grainy malts, a light creamy sweetness. Mild caramel, a little papery and thin, just a touch of bitterness. Calvados barrel presents as a thin but pleasing apple pie tangy - bruised apple thing. A light and semi dry finish brings mild esters. Curious barleywine - tastes like a really good one that has been watered down at a ratio of 1-2-1.
