Collaboration between the elusive SE10 in Hoboken (near Antwerp) and the more familiar Gistgeest (in Antwerp); 50 cl pint at Gist in Brussels. Intended as a 'hazy APA' (oddly not a category of its own on this site yet), hopped with Motueka and Mosaic, apparently both in 'cryo' form and obtained from Yakima Chief Hops - so quite ambitious in terms of ingredients for such small breweries. Snow white, plaster-like lacing, creamy and dense, stable head on a hazy pale yellow blonde robe with vaguely greenish tinge. Aroma of ripe pepino, green melon, Conference pear, touch granadilla, brioche dough, fresh lemonbalm, lime zest, sweet cicely, hint of diesel-like dankness. Juicy onset, sweet-green fruitiness again reminiscent of green melon and pepino as well as yellow kiwi and some lychee, sweetish but not annoyingly so, softly carbonated; rounded, fluffy mouthfeel, bit creamy, slick with sweetish brioche-like malts with a doughy but also a refreshingly green-sourish edge, soaked in aromatic New World hoppiness evoking honey pomelo, Cape gooseberry, melon and lemonbalm, but never becoming overly sweet and keeping all its flavours well in balance. Slight, undisturbing but structurally important grassy and citric bitterness in the end, refreshing, spreading out a bit and remaining elegant. Utterly well-balanced hazy APA, with just enough tropical sweetness, just enough bitterness, just enough maltiness and generous citrusiness - extremely drinkable and well-constructed. Ignoring Gistgeest's contribution to this brew, I absolutely need to find out more about this SE10 project.

Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Scent is fairly mild. Green, raw hops. Taste is sharp, bitter. Mildly aromatic ( green, tropical fruit) bit malty. Nice , but not shocking .
