Bottle. Dark mahogany. Roasted malts, raisins, alcohol, earthy notes, sweet malts, brown sugar, apples. Solid sweet, medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Quite complex, but also boozy and flat earthy bitter. I don't like the individual beers a lot, and this is really a mix of both.

Bottle from Stacks. Hazy dark brown, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of prune, date, pear syrup, blackberry juice & jam, burnt caramel, fruit cake, toast, liquorice, brandy. Taste has sweet prune, date & fig, sourish undercurrent of berry against a caramelly, jam-like, bit toasty malt backbone with a herbal note of liquorice. Herbal, bit earthy hops in the finish, ongoing sweetish-sourishness of dried fruits, some woody tannins and boozy brandy-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Elegant and scrumptious combination of flavours.
