8/XI/24 - 33cl can from La Source (webshop), shared @ Efteling huisje, BB: 9/III/25, lot: P919 (2024-1193)
Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice roast up front, some coconut, dank chocolate, a bit grassy, resinous hops, a little malty. MF: lively carbon, medium body, creamy texture. Taste: nice roast, good bitterness, some citrus, refreshing, hoppy, grassy. Aftertaste: nice and bitter, roasted, dry, hoppy, a bit spicy, a little sweet, some caramel, hoppy, nice!

330ml can. Quasi black colour with huge, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, dark malty and herbal, hoppy aroma, typical Sorachi flavours in the coconut, mint, eucalyptus, menthol spectrum, widely disguised hints of coffee. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and bitter, slightly herbal hoppy, Sorachi flavours again, subdued coffee. Oily texture, dry palate, fine, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation. Well crafted, fairly matching composition, though the roastiness and the Sorachi push into the same (bitter) direction and leave a lack that should/could be filled with some malty sweetness; nevertheless clever usage of the complicated Sorachi hop - decent.

Draft @ La Source.
