pitch black, red edges. 1 finger head. smells like vanilla and sweet cream. whoa vanilla bomb. it's insanely sweet insanely vanilla forward but there's so much vanilla it's as if it's a fake vanilla flavor? IDK. tasty in small amounts. Not for a complete pine

Savor: black with beige. Loads of vanilla plus some chocolate. The pure vanilla overpowers the whisky pretty solidly. Very drinkable.

4 oz. draft at EBF Boston, MA. 3 February, 2018. Pours a mostly opaque black brown colour with a thin tan head. Nose is a massive vanilla and hints of bourbon. Flavor is a mix of vanilla, bourbon, and a warming boozy finish. Vanilla lingers well after the sip leaving an oily texture over the tongue.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Strong vanilla aroma, notes of bourbon, cocoa, molasses as well. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, loads of vanilla, light chocolate, bourbon and wood. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty overtly vanilla, but lacking the pastry stout sweetness that would seem appropriate. Good beer for sure, but not upper echelon. 5,7,7,5,14

Thanks Jay for sharing the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing coffee brown rims with a dark center and latte foam coloured lacing. The nose shows moderately intense notes of molasses, vanilla, and bourbon. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated with a light alcoholic spiciness. Lightly sweet with a light alcoholic spiciness, equally vanilla and bourbon forward.
