330 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish mahogany with light head. Aromas of toffee, raisins, fruitcake and bready malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on fruitcake with a bit of spice. Quite sweet, but that seems to be what may barley wines are aiming for now. Overall very good.

Fles gedeeld met Roelzie, het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rozijnen. De smaak is moutig, zacht zoet, caramel en rozijnen.

Bottle at home. Beautiful chestnut oak brown dark red color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, pleasant bitterness, piney notes in there as well, incredibly well balanced. Medium body, medium carbonation. Very good imo. A nice old school resinous piney bitter barley wine. Lovely.

Draught Small, off-white rim over brilliant red beer. Portwine notes, dried red fruit, leather, hint at Bretts. Quite bitter, again as leather, wood, dried (red) fruit. Medium bodied; very long, vinous aftertaste. Not half bad.

Pours a clear dark ruby body and a creamy beige head with little retention. Aroma's: sweetish, malts, caramel/fudge, red fruit. Retronasal: caramel malts, red fruit, light bitter, light spices. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light bitter. Alcohol is warming but not too hot. Above medium bodied. Bitterness increases. Very nice, Menno still has it!
