330ml bottle from Chez Sophie. Pours black, small tan head. Aroma is all about the milk chocolate. Taste is super silky on the palate, palate-coating, with nutty chocolate, praline, soft liquorice, faint roast, moderately sweet. Well-executed, silky imperial porter

Bottle. Beer Ritz online. Pitch black in the glass. Super leggy. Film and ring of tan head. Nose has liquorice and some aniseed. Bonfire toffee. Some dried, dark vine fruits. Aroma is on the tangy side of impy. Taste does have a little dark sugar sweetness, but is mostly dry, and vinous bitter. Mouthfeel could be smoother, although there’s a well pitched carbonation level here. Finish is strong, tangy, vinous bitter. Ok. Maybe it needs leaving a while to iron out.
