Spontaneously Fermented Beer with 2023 Heiligenbrunner Isabella Grapes

This unique brew combines the wild character of spontaneous fermentation with the vibrant flavors of 2023 Heiligenbrunner Isabella grapes. The Isabella grape, a historic variety in Austria, is cherished for its intense, fruity aroma and rich, deep red color. Known for its resilience and adaptability, it has been a staple in the vineyards of Southern Burgenland, particularly in Heiligenbrunn, where traditional winemaking methods are still passionately preserved.

The beer bursts with an intense flavor of wild strawberries, a hallmark characteristic of this rare and special grape variety. By blending these heritage grapes with spontaneously fermented beer, we pay homage to Austria's rich viticultural traditions while pushing the boundaries of brewing. The result is a captivating fusion of fruity, tangy grape notes with the complexity and depth of wild fermentation, creating a beverage that bridges the gap between beer and wine, steeped in Austrian heritage.

Fast gone, small off-white head over veiled, deep-red beer. Sweet - dry fruit aromas, wild fruit, winegrapes, fruitbranches, Bretts. Sour-dry, but with a background of oxydized malts or grains, old cloth, old books, bit galvanic acidity. Red/pink fruit. Light body, lipsmacking acidity, as good as no carbonation. There's something missing in their beers for me. I fear they trust too much on natural luck... not everything is lambic from the first try.
