33cl can (brewed and canned @ Brouwerij Eutropius) from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: medium, creamy, tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: rich dark malts, chocolate, coconut, cacao, mocha, vanilla, toffee. T: full malty base, chocolate, cacao, coconut, mocha, vanilla, caramel, toffee, nutty, bit umami, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, very good balanced for the style, enjoyed for sure.

Thick, dense, reddish-rust-cream coloured head over red-shot black beer. Coconut, vanilla, mocha, cacao, milkchocolate. Explosion of sweet "beans". Sweet, soft roast, plastic, faint (stout)acidity. Vanilla, ice-cream. Warming up, coffee, especially in the finish. Thick, well-bodied, alcoholheat. Soft carbonation. In this "style" of Pastry Stout, definitely in the upper qualifications - no doubt due to restraint. Thanks to Stef!

Wiebertjes met wat rood fruit en een roestige stalen pijp. Boos en teleurgesteld.

Can picked up from Belgiuminabox, Antwerp, Belgium and consumed at home, Wednesday 19th August 2020 after a very lazy, Fish Fingers, Chips and Mushy Peas. Pours black with a light beige head. Lots of liquorice but also coca cola and dark fruits. This is quite a bolshy Impy, it's not smooth, it's not creamy, it's not indulgent, it's fruity, tsngy, liquorice and different. Do I like this for being different, yes I think that I do.

Zwart bier met mooie bruine schuimkraag die helaas niet al te lang blijft staan. Smaak is krachtig, warm en zoet met iets van chocolade, kokos en wat vanille. Erg goed bier wat mij betreft.

Can from Geers. Pours hazy black with a lasting, thick, foamy, yellowish beige head. Aroma of toffee, marshmallow, chocolate sauce, liquorice, vanilla, coconut, treacle, prune, coffee liqueur. Taste has sweet chocolate, toffee & prune, lightly sourish at that, with a touch of vanilla, almond & peanut. Beef stock-like umami accent links the sweet maltiness to soft bitter cacao bean & mocha. Herbal hoppy finish, quite malty still (dark toffee, chocolate) with coconut notes popping up, heating liqueur alcohol in the very end (Irish whisky, amaretto perhaps). Full body, oily-sticky texture, soft carbonation. Sweetness prevails but it's well-made; I like this base beer better than the Buffalo Trace version.

Malo kokosa, niemniej obecny. Sporo kawowosci i niemalo palonosci. Ma cialo i slodycz, ale nie na tyle, by wplywaly negatywnie na chlalnosc. Lekkie karmelowe nutki i lekka galka muszkatulowa. Bdb jest
