Another iteration of the bänger! Unsurprisingly, this is an especially sweet and smooth version. Aroma is heavy on maple syrup, wood, light licorice, and some earthy notes. Full bodied with a a thickish mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, malty, and extremely smooth, with a surprising amount of wood smoke. Maple syrup comes through nicely but doesn't overwhelm as it easily can. Long, quite bitter finish, but not unpleasant in it's bitterness. Good stuff.

330mL bottle from BeerGeek. Pours black with a beige head. Tons of dark roasted malt, maple syrup, and a fairly woody backbone. Flavour has dark roasted malts, a fairly dry maple syrup character, smoky wood finish. Nicely done maple imperial stout, manages to have a nice maple component without being overly sweet.

330ml bottle at Farmers Bar, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear almost black colour with a round bubbly off-white head. The aroma is roasty, biscuit, caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, light herbal, brown sugary, maple syrup, warm boozy, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep brown, almost black pour, one finger creamy beige head, long lasting, sticky lacing on the glass. Sweet on the nose, maple syrup, caramel, figs, roasted malt, wood notes.

Full body, soft carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel and texture, thick, sticky, chewy. Taste is intensely sweet with some roasty bitter notes thrown in the background for the balance. Aroma of caramel, molasses, licorice, toffee, maple syrup. Figs, coffee, milk chocolate. Ashy, wood notes. Moderately strong alcohol, dry, warming. Long lasting finish, sweet, dry, boozy.

Slightly too sweet perhaps but enjoyable nonetheless.

28/II/25 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 4/IX/27 (2025-153)

Clear dark brown beer, big irregular and a bit fizzy to creamy beige brown head, stable, a little adhesive. Aroma: pretty oxidized, lots of dried fruits, dates and raisins, some chocolate, caramel notes, more oxidation, some soy sauce. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of alcohol, good roast, lots of caramel, some maple syrup, toasted pecans, sugary, a bit oxidised, chocolate, some bitter mocha and coffee, more alcohol. Aftertaste: lots of caramel, sugary, maple syrup all right, sweet, a hint of vanilla, a little bitter, pretty dry in comparison to the alcohol, and the sweet impressions you get, more chocolate, cocoa powder, very pleasant stuff, loved it!
