American Brown Ale
A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Can pour from Wally’s. Aroma is sweet caramel, with some dark fruits and yeasty. Appearance is clear dark brown mahogany without sparkle with two-finger width light brown head that diminishes to ring with decent lacing. Taste is sweet toasted malt with caramel. Palate is medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation with late lively zing to the tip of the tongue and sweet caramel finish. Overall, true to style but borders on unfinished side.

16 ounce can > pint glass A: Pours a murky dark amber with a half finger of lingering head. S: Caramel malt is dominant in the nose. T: Caramel maltiness with a bitter bite of chocolate and earthy hop note. Little real sweetness but ’rounded". Pretty good balance of flavors. M: Medium body and good level of carbonation on the tongue. Very smooth mouthfeel. Clean, not cloying. O: Very smooth drinkable brown with nothing negative.

Bottle shared at Beer Market Jaffa. Deep amber-brown with a beige head. Aroma of nutty malt, some toast, a bit of chocolate, a bit of caramel and a light fruity hint. Sweetish flavor, malty, nutty, a bit toasty, with a chocolate note, a bit of caramel and a drier bitterish finish. Medium-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. A decent Brown Ale.
