American Brown Ale

A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Overall Impression: Nice brown with a slightly nutty flavor
**Another Bells offering I haven't had in a while that could use an update on next sampling

Bottle from Archer Liquors. Deep ruby amber color with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of roughly roasted caramel. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is malt, light citrus, and some light treacle? It’s extremely tasty, and reminds of a lighter Belgian ale. Finishes more dry than not.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of KAggie97. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma dominated by sweet, overripe fruit. Medium body with sweet nut accents, caramel and again overripe fruit. The finish is dry. 250308

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours brown with amber edges and tan head. The aroma is roasty malts, a bit of dusty malt astringency, crystal malts and mild notes of chocolate. The taste has rich maltiness with levels of roasted malts, caramelized malts, mild biscuit malts and just a hint of chocolate. Midway a blunted sting of malt astringency mixed with vague hop bitterness helps draw the experience to a close. It leaves a roasty mildly bitter after taste.

Bottled. A murky orange-brown beer with a fast disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet fruity combined with lighter notes of alcohol and prunes. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin.

From bottle, 2B Papsoes New Zealand vs US blind tasting. Pours murky brown/orange with a lacing off- white head. Dried fruity and wineous aroma. Mild woody note. Flavour is fruity and mild woody, light dryness. Somewhat too dry and woody for my liking with no body to follow. Very minor oxidised note.

12 oz bottle from kramer17801; nose of caramelized brown sugar, with some floral notes; hazy brown with a medium beige head; flavor is some sweetness, coffee, and caramel. Finish is slightly sweet. Would be a decent session beer!
