American Brown Ale
A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Yum! Bellβs really makes some great beers! Cloudy brown/amber color. Creamy head malty taste and slightly bitter finish. I really like this beer and need to have a few more

Mushroomy aroma. Cloudy brown with a thin tan head. Roasted barley and coffee taste. Subdued walnut finish. Decent, but lacks a wow factor. The porterish qualities make it different, but not really any better.

Rerate: 12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy deep red color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel and nuts with spicy citrus hops in the finish. Taste is caramel, nuts, leafy hops and something lightly tart. Medium bodied. 7/4/7/3/14
Bottle. Pours a ruddy brown w/ a light nutty aroma and off-white head. Slightly sweet with a nice hop profile peeking out. 7/3/7/4/15

Bottle: Nice chestnut brown color with medium size creamy white head. Great lacing. Aroma of hops, malt, and a little earthiness. Taste is sweet with maltiness and caramel , yet has enough hops to maintain some bite. A little woody and nutty as well. One of the better browns that I can remember to date. Thanks Eithcubes for the trade bonus.

Color was nothing extraordinary... translucent brown with a creamy white head. Nose has more flowers and perfume than I would have guessed with hints of malt. Flavor is lacking... grainy and yeasty with not a whole lot else. Finish is flat and a little musty. Definitely a Euro brown and not an American brown.

Clear dark brown body with a small creamy tan head. Sweet malty and nutty aroma. Sweet malty flavor, lots of nuttiness and a bit of caramel in the background.

Clear chestnut colour with a thick, dense brownish head, leaving shards of lace. Something vaguely sweet-caramel, toffee, bit of hosp, dry cacaopowder; sweet and vaguely woody. Sweet-ish, green leaves, bit of greenmalt, arachide with a retronasal bitterness that clashes with the sweet initial flavour, instead of blending. Chocolate flavours, certainly warming up. Medium bodied, at least, quite slick, bit too much mouthburning to be called smooth. Itβs not really bad, but its lack of balance annoys me no end. I wonder if Mr. Bell wanted to explore the limits of archaic styles?

Pours a nice brown color with a mid-sized head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is of sweet malts and some hops, along with a little caramel. The mouth is creamy with a bit of carbonation as it goes down. Flavor is very nice. Malt and caramel are the most noticeable, and it ends with a slight touch of hop bitterness. Very well balanced. Tasty and easily drinkable.

Bottle. Nice brown, touch of red? Malt aroma, I picked up a slight roast smell. Taste is nice, decent bodied brown ale. Good recommendation from Jeremy at Lukas.

No memorable aroma. Poors dark medium brown in my steeler stein. Is that malt or hops? Bitter start but bitterness decreases toward the finish.
