English-style pub ales are a unique joy - simple but flavorful, memorable or perfectly forgettable depending on the mood. Tiddly is our take on a Dark Mild, a style we think hits at that dichotomy particularly well - you could certainly savor them but they’re small beers we find are best enjoyed a couple at a time and without much fuss.

Draught at Torst: pours brown with off white head. Aroma is malty, nutty. Taste is lightly bitter, sweetish. Fairly dry.

Stemware at Torst, December 2024. Dark, opaque brown on black pour. Chimney, chary, burnt peanut nose. Sooty, dusty charred, very light notion of lactose & burnt nuts. Astringent finish, near but not dry. Meh.

Canned 4/13/22, drunk 5/23/22. Dark mahogany with dark auburn hues on the edges. Light-tan head is small, shows moderate retention. Nose is super toasty, lightly caramel-rich, fruity british mild. Mineral and toast, earthy cellar. Similar flavor. Toasty, but soft and malty with great flavor and texture for its size. Hazelnuts and light chocolate with toasted brown bread. Mineral, hints of honey, lots of dainty chocolate. Clean, fruity, mineral heavy. Lovely.

No wonder the English drink all day. 3.8% nice palate cleanser. Roasty. Would be top on cask.

Pours mahogany into a shaker. Tan micro head with excellent retention. Dark caramel, chocolate, espresso and brown bread aromas. Soft and thin with earthy molasses, chocolate and toasted brown bread upfront. Medium length earthy caramel and pine finish.
