Curious Brew Brut is the result of a co-operation between English Wines’ Frazer Thompson (formerly Heineken Global Brand Director), Owen Elias (UKVA Winemaker of the Year 2002 and 2003), and Andy Hepworth. The beer is brewed by Hepworth as a lager, using East Anglian malt and Cascade and Saaz hops.

It is then re-fermented using Champagne yeast. Finally it is cold filtered and bottled.

Bottle @ pub in Pett. Clear blond colour, white foam. Lots of carbonation. Very watery with light malty base. You’re better drinking sparkling water than this. Same taste but cheaper.

Bottle at home ... Crisp golden orange .... a lager hop nose with just a hint of soft malts ... smooth and sweet ... light carbonation ... not by thing but as lager goes not to bad.

33cl bottle from the Goods Shed, Canterbury. Golden, good carbonation and thin lasting white head. Woody lager aroma, some citrus. Too fizzy and woody in mouth and then I don’t like the finish at all. Please someone, take this away from me. Overall nasty.
