A classic bitter ale that, as Rob once said, is suitable for drinking at any time of the day. Not that we at all endorse a lunchtime beer, save it for special occasions, but you know what we mean - this beer is light and refreshing. At only 3.6% it's one of our lowest ABV beers in a bottle.

Starting with a simple malt bill of British grains we build on this with rather a lot of soft, delicate and low alpha hops from the UK, Poland and Germany for a layered and complex, yet still ever so refreshing, hoppy finish.

Like most of our beers the flavours build and build the further through the bottle(s) you get.

Malts: Maris Otter, Best Pale, Wheat
Hops: British, German, Polish

Cask at the Cask & Barrel, stable long lasting creamy head, clear quite deep gold color, grass and lemon aroma with a bready and light honey maltiness, citrusy, light honey flavor with a light herbal bitterness, just a bit tannic sensation. Light, nice and enjoyable.

Cask at The New Inn, Colchester. Pours very lively pale gold with a big frothy 'ice cream float' off-white head. Aroma of hop, citrus, light caramel, and malt with light floral notes. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium to light body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Ok, but preferred their pale.

Cask. Sheffield Tap. Pale gold, with a soft haze. Thin, white head. Nose is fusty cereal malts. Some sweet biscuit. Lot of pithy, lemon hop. Taste is crisp, pithy bitter. Lots of zing to it. Gets pretty dry. Light body. Pithy bitter finish, with a bone dry close. Decent sessioner.
