24/05/2011 33cl bottle @ Café Vooruit (Gent) (2011-225)

Clear deep golden coloured beer. Didn't get to pour myself, so maybe there was yeast in the bottle, but it was not in my glass. Big creamy white head, stable and adhesive. Aroma: fruity (citrus and melon), grassy, malts. MF: lots of carbon, full body. Taste: very fruity, citrus notes first, then peaches, even some pineapple, turning to a bitter hoppy flavour. Aftertaste: nice dry, crisp finish, lots of citrus, sour notes are very present, alcohol warming the back of the throat. Pretty decent beer.

Lots of raisins and light malt. It’s not a bad beer, just kinda simple. It reminds me of Valley Brew’s Decadent Evil. I have no idea how this beer is supposed to compliment cheese; personally, I’d take the Flemish Primitive line for that job. Anyway, the beer is golden and a touch cloudy from some suspended yeast. It has a nice creamy white head. The aroma is just raisins, malt and a touch of grassy/citric hops. Taste is mild to medium sweet. It’s fairly well carbonated - lots of little prickly bubbles. Not my favorite from de Proef, but I’m still a fan.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a huge, foamy white head and a hazy golden body. Aroma is strongly hoppy with pine, followed by a grainyness and brown sugar. Taste is sugar, pine hops and grain. Belgian IPA? Light bubbles and low residual sugars.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours a hazy tea color with very little off-white head. Very soft and fruity aromas. Medium body with sparkling carbonation. Much flavor is lighter stone fruit - like peach or apricot. Arguably a hint of funk in the background. Astringent. Goes well with Cowgirl RedHawk and Mt Tam cheeses. Finishes mildy sweet. Very tasty.
